We're ready for a fun Easter Day!
We went to La Costa with Courtney and family. Wow, what a beautiful place! I had never been there. They had an egg hunt...that we sort of missed because I was running behind (oops!) and a super yummy brunch. It was an absolutely perfect Spring day and we had a really fun time spending it with friends.
Paige with Pressly Rose...her new best friend!
Hmmm...Pressly Rose...how do I describe her?!? She is Miss Person-al-ity!!...they were 2 peas in a pod! Here's a quick story to give you an idea of exactly who Pressly is - Courtney took her on a quick trip to Target to pick out a bow for her Easter outfit (she's from Texas too so she agrees with me that a bow is a necessity) and Pressly ran off when they got in the store. Courtney found her down at the end of an isle and she had on a hat, scarf, sunglasses...totally decked out with anything she could grab quick enough from the accessories department...and when she saw Courtney she struck a pose and said "what's up sugga Momma"...ha! Can you imagine trying to discipline your child when she pulls a trick like that?! So Courtney did her best trying not to completely crack up as she's getting on to her and they end up in the hair accessory isle. Pressly proceeds to point to each of the bows and says "that one's ugly, that one's ugly, that one's ugly...I like that one." Courtney tells her it's not her decision and to keep her mouth shut so Pressly grabs a brush and holds it like a microphone and says "Hello. My name is Pressly Rose and my Mom has a bad attitude." Seriously??!! What a handful and she's only 5 years old!Paige with Pressly Rose...her new best friend!
Anyway, Pressly was super sweet and acted like a big sis to Paige. She's actually going to be a big sis in July to baby Ruby! Paige and Pressly didn't leave each other's side the whole day and had tons of fun playing.
Sharing a plate of mac 'n cheese...which thank the Lord they had because that's the only guaranteed thing Paige will eat
When we got home from La Costa, we put Paige down for a nap and Jerm and I were with Tyler in our room when the house started to shake and we quickly realized we were having an earthquake! There was a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Baja California and it shook our house for a good 20 seconds. It was super scary. I felt so helpless and wasn't quite sure what to do hoping that it went away quick and didn't get worse. I held Tyler tight and Jeromy went in and got Paige out of bed. Momma and Poppa bear instincts kicked in quick! Nothing fell off the dresser but the sliding glass doors in our guest shower were shaking pretty loud. Jeromy literally left the house 10 minutes later to get an earthquake kit and was unsuccessful in finding one...so he created one! He and Derek are going to market it soon. My little entrepreneur ;) Anyway, it was definitely an eye opener. Since we missed the egg hunt at La Costa, the Easter Bunny visited during Paige's nap so she got to hunt some eggs when she woke up ;)
An egg, an egg! Notice how nice our backyard looks. That is grass...not sure when the last time Jeromy mowed...looks like the day we moved in, 2 years ago!! Thankfully, it's not all that high. There's one corner that grows like crazy.
And Mark came over for dinner. Paige was quick to recruit him to her playroom. Look at her little toes on the easel...what a monkey!
We had a great Easter and it was so nice to just kinda go with the flow :)
