Ho Ho Ho

Santa Claus is coming to town and I CAN'T WAIT! I am so stinkin excited about Christmas this year I could just pop! Paige is at such a fun age and is so giddy excited about Christmas and all that comes with it. Poor Thanksgiving...it seems to always get skipped over and even more this year for me! I've already bought Christmas decorations, Elf on the Shelf (super cute if you haven't heard of it), Santa's cookie plate and mug and Christmas trees for each of the kids rooms. We put the trees in their room last week. Paige got a pink tree with gold ornaments and Tyler got a green tree with red and green ornaments. Paige and I had a great time decorating the little trees!

Anyway, Friday night we went to Fashion Island for the tree lighting and sitting on Santa's lap. We had been talking about it all week and Paige was so excited. She's had this lingering cold and started coughing on Thursday so Friday we skipped preschool (really bummed because they had their Thanksgiving party on Friday) and made an appointment with the Doctor. She didn't have a temperature so the doctor said it was just a cold and she would be fine. So, off to Irvine we went. Well...about 30 minutes into the drive she starts whining "I want Mommy...I want Mommy" for about 10 minutes straight. We get there and meet Blake and Ashley and Paige is coughing a little but for the most part is in good spirits.

The amazing tree!

Well, the good spirits soon died and she spent the rest of the night like this...clung on to me. Poor Paige did not feel good. Look at those sad eyes. I know we probably should have just gone home but we drove all the way there and she still wanted to see Santa so we stood in line.
Yes, I am crazy for keeping my sick child in line for Santa...
Here's the picture! Pretty good picture for a sick little girl and a hungry and tired baby!
We missed getting a picture of the most precious moment ever but this kinda gives you an idea. Tyler was looking right into Santa's eyes while Santa was talking to him. So precious!
We got in the car to go home and Paige was burning up. We pulled over to get some Tylenol and called the Doctor to tell them she developed a fever and asked for some antibiotics. Thankfully the on-call Doctor wrote her a prescription and we picked it up on the way home. What an adventurous night it turned out to be! She's much better now thank goodness. She is still coughing and barely has a voice but her fever is gone and she seems to be feeling better. Gotta get this little girl well for Thanksgiving! If there is a good time to get sick, this is the time actually. It poured rain all day Saturday and Sunday and she doesn't have preschool this week so it's a good time to be at home getting well. Poor little kiddos! Tyler doesn't have it as bad as Paige but he did have a fever Saturday night and has been coughing too. They both seem to be getting better so I think they'll be fine by Thursday. Let's hope so!
